SAUTI SOL AND GOSPEL ARTIST PAPA DENNIS NOMINATED IN NEGERIA ENTERTAINMENT AWARDS

Kenya’s first raising Gospel artist Papa Dennis and Kenya’s boy band Sauti Sol have been have been nominated in this year’s Nigeria entertainment awards in the category of the African Male artiste of the year (Non Nigerian/African).
Papa Dennis has been nominated alongside Kenya’s Sauti Sol and other gospel artistes from Africa and they will be battling out to try and bring the awards to their respective natives.
Sauti sol recently have been touring across the African continent in a tour dabbed live and die in Africa as a way of expanding their market and fan base, while doing what they do best.
Sauti Sol is so far the very famous and successful band in the whole of Africa and even across borders due to their sweet music.
On the other hand, Papa is a gospel artist with a very unique story and a true testimony to success as he was once a street boy but now he is rolling big in the gospel music industry.
Born as Dennis Mwangi, in the outskirts of Eldoret town the home of champions but known to many by his stage name, Papa Dennis grew up as an orphan and dew to luck of school fee he joined streets to try and hustle his way out in life.
His dream came to the lime light back in the days through MP Alfred Keter at an event in Matunda Eldoret. In the year 2015 Papa Dennis landed on a humongous sponsorship deal from a Dubai-based tycoon, who paid for his music video to a tune of a whopping Sh15.7 million!
The video shoot for the song Wonder featuring Nigerian artist KoredeBello managed to register more than 500k views on YouTube hence making it a big tuned.
The Maliza Umasikini is an initiative that works handily with Papa Dennis as a way of giving back to the society and remembering where he came from. (the streets)
This artiste won the Male Artiste of the Year award in the annual Mwafaka Awards in the year 2015.
At the end of last year the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in company of other 26 politicians attended the video launch of Papa Dennis’s song titled Njoo at Huruma grounds in Eldoret.
According to Papa those politicians who showed up are his real friends who love his music. It can also be remember that he featured in Daddy Owens song “Foundation” a thing that boosted his presence in the gospel music.
Papa Dennis started off his music in a Congolese band hence his love for Lingala in all his tunes.
