NAI NI WHO MUKURU EDITION GOES DOWN AT KANU GROUNDS IN MUKURU KAYABA

Jua kali while on stage at a past event
The king of Genge Jua kali has today drilled residents of Mukuru Kayaba slums located in south B, in an event dubbed “ NAI NI WHO “ Mukuru edition. It was an event organized by Nai Ni Who an initiative meant to celebrate Nairobi neighborhoods while sharing experiences of different hoods.
The music concert at Kanu grounds kicked off at around 9 am with Jua kali performing a good number of his songs to the crowd that was present at the event.
It is an event that kicked off on Saturday 30th of July with an Open Mic and outdoor games competition at Lunga Lunga car wash. This was followed by a football tournament on Sunday which went down at Mukuru Kwa Reuben grounds bringing together youths from different Hoods in Nairobi.
Monday 1st was a day of cleaning the slums, and luckily Mukuru Kwa Ruben got the chance to cleaned up by youths who are affiliated to the Nai Ni Who community. The residents of Mukuru got the opportunity to watch a number of Films that were staged at Mukuru Kwa Ruben grounds.
Today’s event (Friday 5th) was climaxed by a dancing completion from different hoods that make up the large Mukuru slums. The majestic dancing crew that has its origin at Kanu village carried the day with their well geography movers that left fans screaming all through. The “Musa” crew which is made up of young ladies came second in the dancing competition.
So lets MUKURU NI WHO?. Here is a little history about Mukuru slums.
The Mukuru settlement are speared out south of the Industrial area along the Ngong river. They Mukuru slum is divided into three sections; Kwa Ruben, Kwa Njenga and Kayaba. In each hood there are a number of villages that creates the bigger picture.
Mukuru has magaed to produce a number of famous names in the Kenyan Community, the likes of Peter Adams, Partrick Oboya, Shabu Mwangi, Vincent Ateya among many more.
