IT’S A NEW BEGINNING FOR KIBERA BASED RECORDING LABEL; GRANDPA RECORDS
By Dennis Milimo
The Kibera-Based record label Grandpa Records is in the process of reclaiming it position in the music recording world after a number of setbacks and exit of some of its stars.
The recording label that had been the power house of a good number of stars is yet again to reclaim it name in the recording world after holding a re-branding ceremony over the weekend at its premises in Kibera. The re-branding ceremony was attended by big names in the radio, TV and Deejays industry.
During the re-branding Grandpa records unleashes a new logo, a new slogan and the labels vision.
According to Grandpa’s heavy weight Refigah, the label is set to expand and already they have spread their wings to Rwanda where they will be doing a number of projects.
“The new GrandPa is spreading wings to Rwanda, artistes have gone through a lot of struggles through individuals who worked with us before, but that is now in the past. We now have a new team of professional and outstanding producers to give us the best sound in the market and high quality production. When an artiste records in our studio, the song will be ready within 7 working days. We are also offering more services from voice training and song writting skills. Grandpa has grown and now we have a bigger team on board to help us attain our objectives.” Refigah said.
Despite this rebranding a lot has been said against Grandpa Records with the likes of Visita, Kenrazy, Dna, Kiddis the Jembe, and the queen of Grandpa Sosuun who is the wife to Kenrazy among others decided to exit the record under unclear circumstances.
It’s time to hit the pause button and wait for good music out of Grandpa Records.
